Former President Says to ‘Stand United’ after Attempted Shooting

Meanwhile, the FBI investigates shooting as an 'assassination attempt'

On Sunday, former president Donald Trump urged Americans to “stand united” after the shooting Saturday night at his rally in Pennsylvania.

The FBI is investigating the incident as an assassination attempt, naming 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pa., as the suspected gunman.

Trump, who survived the attack, said he was “shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear.”
