The OSAP 2025 Host Event Center - The Glass City Center

Originally opened as the SeaGate Centre in March 1987, the facility's original name came from the St. Lawrence Seaway and Toledo’s branding as the “Gateway to the Sea." Toledo natives Danny Thomas, Teresa Brewer and Jamie Farr were part of the dedication along with former Mayor Harry Kessler, County Commissioners James Holzemer, Alfred Hawkins, Sandy Isenberg and Toledo Mayor Donna Owens.

Since then, the rebranded Glass City Center has hosted hundreds of national and regional conventions, trade shows, athletic competitions, expos, fundraisers, dinner events and weddings.

While small improvements were made, it was in 2020 when the transformative $70 million expansion and renovation began. The result is a spectacular new downtown convention center.

Glass City Center’s new 16,000 square-ft. Grand Ballroom opened in late August 2022 with the new name paying homage to the city’s recognition as the “glass capital of the world.”

Since its grand opening, countless new music, food and entertainment venues have energized our dynamic city.

- Sustainability is at the Heart of the Glass City Center -

The Glass City Center is firmly committed to environmental sustainability through various green initiatives. With water bottle fountains, recycling programs and full LED lighting, the center prioritizes minimizing plastic waste and reducing energy consumption. New chillers, boilers and a water cooling tower contribute to energy efficiency, while recycled materials are consciously chosen for common spaces and meeting rooms. Waste dispensers made from recycled milk jugs and UV coating on windows further showcase the center's dedication to repurposing materials and proactively managing energy use.

The Glass City Center also offers stellar food and beverage service.
