A: I am currently President and Managing Partner of Cleveland Anesthesia Group (CAG). CAG provides anesthesia and pain management services at the St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, located near downtown Cleveland and at four ambulatory surgery centers in the suburbs of Cleveland: The Cleveland Eye and Laser Surgery Center in Fairview Park; the Rockside Road Surgery Center in Independence; the Brainard Road Surgery Center in Lyndhurst and the Cleveland Plastic Surgery Institute in Mayfield Heights.
I graduated from Case Western Reserve University and received my Medical Degree from Northeastern Ohio Medical University. I completed my residency training in Anesthesia at University Hospitals of Cleveland, followed by a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic.
In addition to my role practicing with CAG, I also am involved with and serve in various roles at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, the Academy of Medicine of Northern Ohio and NEOMED.
A: I have been a member of OSMA for 27 years. I am currently a Councilor-at-Large from the Fifth District, a member of the Focused Task Force on State Legislation, the Auditing and Appropriations Committee and Secretary/Treasurer of the Association’s Foundation. In addition, I serve as a delegate from the Fifth District to the House of Delegates and an Alternate Delegate to the American Medical Association.
A: As a member of council, I will continue to use my best efforts to advance the growth and prosperity of our OSMA, advocating on behalf of the practice of medicine with an emphasis on providing Ohio citizens with reliable access to high quality, cost effective, physician directed healthcare.
A: The pandemic placed social determinants of healthcare front and center. On behalf of a healthier Ohio, we must continue to focus upon the quadruple aim: management of population health; experience of care; cost containment; and physician well-being.
Furthermore, we must continue to lead the House of Medicine, interact with community organizations, and remain on the forefront of legislative and regulatory concerns as they pertain to the practice of medicine and the physician-patient relationship.
Q: What are some of the ways in which OSMA has supported your medical practice?
A: I am very grateful to the OSMA for the support of my specialty of Anesthesiology and the many programs available for my practice. There is hardly an issue that OSMA staff are not experts in and are readily available to offer opinions and advice. The value of membership is clear and I would encourage all Ohio physicians to become members of our OSMA.
