Ayersville Telephone Company

A group of farmers gathered in 1905 to start and form Ayersville Mutual Telephone Company.  Using Black-Ash trees, the first telephone poles were set in Highland and Richland Townships.  It wasn’t until August 1916 that the Company was incorporated. 

1965 - Installed X-Y Switch (Stromberg-Carlson)
1989 - Changed Central Office Switch to Digital              
1996 - Started Affiliate to Service Internet
2001 - Remodeled & Expanded the Facility
2002 - Changed Central Office Switch to a Softswitch
2006 - Deployed IPTV
2008 - Deployed High Definition IPTV
2009 - Started Holding Company for Acquisition of an ISP, CLEC, and Real Estate Company
2010 - Deployed new DSL Equip. to Test Bonding
2011 - Started Upgrade of all DSL Equip.
2012 – Finished DSL upgrades, planning last remote
2013 – Established Branding with Affiliate CLEC

Broadband Access

Using Fiber to the Node (FttN), 100% of our exchange territory has access to Broadband via ADSL2+.  The FttN project was started in 2002.  During the time of the project the DSL equipment has been upgraded three times to the current platform of ADSL 2+, allowing us to launch the IPTV product.  Today we enjoy a greater than 55% penetration rate of customers having Broadband access, of that more than 63% of those customers have IPTV, with new subscriptions every day.
