As we begin another pest-filled summer together in Pi Chi Omega, I am reminded that the true strength of our fraternity is found not only in our history and traditions, but in our members.
Every day, Pi Chi Omega members demonstrate professionalism, leadership, innovation, and a commitment to serving others throughout the pest management industry. This shared dedication makes our fraternity unique and continues to strengthen the profession we serve.
Membership in Pi Chi Omega is more than an honor—it is an opportunity to invest in the future of our industry. Through mentorship, networking, education, scholarships, charitable giving, and fellowship, each of us has the ability to make a lasting impact. Whether you have been a member for many years or were recently inducted, I encourage you to remain engaged, participate in our programs, and help us identify and support the next generation of industry leaders. And, of course, perhaps share a beverage or two with fellow members at one of our Raise the Bar social events.
I would also like to recognize the tremendous support shown during our Raise the Bar fundraiser at the 2026 NCUE Conference. Events like this not only bring our members together, but also directly support the mission of Pi Chi Omega.
A special congratulations goes to Janet Kintz-Early, Ph.D. pictured below, who won the event’s 50/50 raffle. Janet’s generosity was especially inspiring because she chose to donate her winnings back to the Pi Chi Omega Scholarship Fund.
In sharing her story, Janet explained that she was once the recipient of a Pi Chi Omega scholarship and that the financial assistance was instrumental in helping her complete her university education. Her decision to pay it forward is a powerful example of how our fraternity’s investment in students can come full circle and benefit future generations of pest management professionals. Thank you, Janet!
Another meaningful way Pi Chi Omega recognizes excellence is through our annual awards program. Our industry is filled with individuals who quietly go above and beyond to advance the profession, support their peers, and strengthen their communities. If you know someone whose contributions deserve recognition, I encourage you to submit a nomination before the August 14 deadline. Taking a few moments to recognize an outstanding colleague is a wonderful way to celebrate the values that define Pi Chi Omega.
I also encourage you to support and promote our Industry Grant Program, one of the fraternity’s most impactful initiatives. These grants help fund projects that advance education, research, and innovation throughout the pest management industry. If you or someone you know has a project that could benefit our profession, please submit an application before the September 18 deadline. The ideas and initiatives we support today can make a meaningful difference for many years to come.
As we look ahead, I am excited about what we can accomplish together. We can continue to recognize excellence, invest in innovation, and support the students and professionals who will shape the future of our industry.
