For Babatunji  Daramola, effective pest management is about more than controlling pests—it's about protecting public health.

As a graduate student at Rutgers University, Babatunji studies the role urban rodents and the parasites they carry play in spreading disease, particularly in underserved communities. His research helps improve our understanding of the public health risks associated with rodents and supports the development of more effective, science-based pest management programs.

Babatunji's passion for the industry extends beyond the laboratory. He has presented his research at professional conferences, collaborated on published research, and actively volunteers to promote public awareness of entomology and inspire future scientists. His long-term goal is to build a research-driven pest management business that combines scientific innovation with practical solutions that improve community health.

The Pi Chi Omega Scholarship will help Babatunji pursue professional licensure, certifications, and industry involvement as he transitions from academic research into professional practice. He hopes to continue translating research into real-world solutions that strengthen the pest management profession while safeguarding public health.
