Beverly Joan Spear Turner, 85, of Markleysburg, Pa passed away on February 25, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was born on November 14, 1938 in Cokeburg, Pa to John Edward Spear and Bessie Carrie Cunningham Spear.
Beverly spent her life as a loving wife, mother, granny and great-granny. She devoted many years to being the owner/operator of Spear Convalescent Home in Markleysburg. She was a lifetime member of the Markleysburg Henry Clay VFD Ladies auxiliary and a member of New Life Covenant Church of God and their ladies auxiliary.
Beverly is survived by her 6 children: John “Rusty” Turner and wife Pamela of Markleysburg, Diana and John Hotarie of Brownsville, Gerald “Jerry” Turner of Markleysburg, Rodney Turner and Desirae Latchaw, Craig Turner and wife Meredith of Markleysburg, and Charles Bradley Turner of Markleysburg; grandchildren: James “Robby” Turner and wife Suzanne of Colorado Springs, Co, Jonathon Turner of Woodstock, Georgia, Nicole and Joshua Bunting of Gloucester, Va, Christoper Lucy and wife Heather of Ohiopyle, Pa, Jared Turner and wife Paige of Hendersonville, TN, Jason Turner and Julie of Markleysburg, Rodney Turner Jr of Ohiopyle, Ryne Turner and wife Kaitlyn of Farmington, Pa, Holly Orendorff and husband Ben of Friendsville, MD, Bridget Turner of Bruceton Mills, WV, and Charles Bailey Turner of Grantsville, MD; great grandchildren: Sophia, Payton, Ethan, Lukas, Jacob, Devyn, Karsyn, Everett, Ryleigh, River, Kathleena, Quinn, Emerson, and Asher; sisters: Della Rae Spear Owens of Markleysburg, Jacqueline “Jackie” Spear Hinebaugh and husband Gary of Columbia, KY, brother in law Harry “Bud” Workman of Daisytown, Pa; sisters in law: Mary Lou Bates of Zeigler, IL, Ruth Sumey of Markleyburg; special niece, Joyce Ann Wolfe and husband Stanley of Markleyburg; numerous other nieces and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years Charles Robert “Red” Turner in 2001; brother, Edward Delane Spear; sisters: Betty Jean Glisan, Josephine Annette Workman; grandson, Timothy Aaron Lucy; brothers in law: Charles “Bud” Glisan, Maurice “Marty” Owens. The family would like to send out special thank you to the staff of Quality Life Services, WVU Hospice, and Uniontown Hospital 2nd floor, especially Amy, for all of their amazing care for our loved one.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with a Ladies Auxiliary Service at 7 pm. Services will be held on Friday March 1, 2024 at 10 a.m. with the Pastor David Herring and Pastor JJ Chiara officiating at New Life Covenant Church, 4809 National Pike, Markleyburg, Pa.
