We are currently searching for a motivated Survey Crew Chief to support our Midwest Region in Dayton, Ohio. The Survey Crew Chief position reports to the Survey Operations Manager. This position will require occasional overnight travel and working outside in all weather conditions. Applicant must be able to pass a drug and background test to obtain security badge clearance.
What you’ll be doing:
• Supervises a crew which conducts field surveys as defined by the project manager
• Accomplishes majority of survey tasks with limited interaction with supervisors and/or Land Surveyors
• Communicates effectively with, and meets the needs of the client representative, governing agent and public representatives involved in each project; keeps the client field representative informed as to progress and problems and notifies when job is complete
• Communicates effectively with project manager as to project progress, problems, client change requests and job completion
What you need to have:
• 5+ years of experience working on a survey crew with ability to lead crew
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in construction staking, boundary surveys, and topographic surveys
• Ability to travel as needed • Ability to demonstrate organizational skills, including attention to detail
