Call for Papers
We invite proposals of 500 words for the volume Rhetorica in Motion: Feminist Rhetorical Methods and Methodologies. Rhetorica in Motion explores the diverse feminist rhetorical methods and methodologies that inform the work of feminist scholars in rhetorical studies. Following Sandra Harding's lead (1987), we define methods as "techniques for. . . gathering evidence" and methodology as a "theory and analysis of how research does or should proceed" (2-3).
Although there is a rich body of feminist revisionary histories of women's rhetorics and analyses of feminist rhetorical practices, there has been less work that directly addresses the research strategies and choices of feminist scholars. This volume seeks to fill that gap by taking up a central question: What feminist methods and methodologies undergird work in feminist rhetorical analysis and historiography? Volume contributors should examine the how and why of their feminist rhetorical methods and methodologies in the following areas or in other proposed areas:
--Anthologizing Feminist Rhetorics
--Critical Race Rhetorics and Feminist Rhetorics
--Disability Studies and Feminist Rhetorics
--Feminist Rhetorical Analysis of Public Policy, Institutional Practices, Cultural Practices, etc.
--Feminist Rhetorical Historiography
--Feminist Rhetorics and Technologies
--Participatory Activist Research on Feminist Rhetorics
--Pedagogies of Feminist Rhetorics
--Qualitative or Quantitative Research on Feminist Rhetorics
--Queer Rhetorics and Feminist Rhetorics
--Transnational Feminist Rhetorics
--Theorizing Feminist Rhetorics
