CALL FOR PROPOSALS: LOCAL SITE COORDINATOR/S
RHETORIC SOCIETY OF AMERICA
2010 CONFERENCE
Nominations are invited for candidates to serve as Local Site Coordinator/s for the Rhetoric Society of America's 14th biennial conference. Self-nominations are encouraged. The University of Memphis coordinated local arrangements for the12th meeting, in May 2006, a role to be fulfilled for the 2008 meeting in Seattle by the Universities of Washington and Puget Sound.
The RSA President-Elect will determine the Conference theme and dates for 2010, oversee development of the program, and work closely with the Local Site Coordinator/s on logistics. RSA will work with Conferon, a professional event planning organization, to locate an appropriate facility, negotiate with selected properties, and so on. Specific tasks for the Local Site Coordinator/s will be determined in consultation with the president-elect. The Conference is usually held in May.
Complete proposals should include identification of the individual/s who will serve as primary contact/s with the President-Elect, and an explanation of the resources. faculty and student volunteers, institutional support, etc.. that would commend the prospective Local Site Coordinator/s as a strong partner for RSA.
Proposals to serve as Local Site Coordinator for the Institute and/or the Conference should be submitted electronically to David Henry, RSA Executive Director, by October 12: david.henry@unlv.edu. The Site Selection Committee will review the proposals and make recommendations to the RSA Board of Directors during the Board's fall retreat.
