Call for Proposals: RSA’s 2019 Graduate Student Webinar
Call for Proposals: RSA’s 2019 Graduate Student Webinar
The Rhetoric Society of America invites innovative proposals from its graduate student chapters for the annual graduate student webinar, an event designed to be accessible to all student members of RSA.
The webinar should focus on professional development or a topic of scholarly interest. It should incorporate an interactive forum for participants, regardless of its specific format (e.g., scholarly talk, panel discussion, roundtable). Potential webinar topics might address professional concerns including publishing, the job market, or applying for grants. Applicants may design the webinar to explore broader disciplinary questions. A webinar that highlights the recipient of the RSA annual book award is also an option. Ultimately, proposals should be designed to attract audiences across institutional affiliations (English, Communication, Rhetoric and Writing), and should address how the webinar topic/event would appeal to teachers and scholars across the RSA’s membership.

The selected student chapter will be responsible for designing, organizing, and facilitating the webinar. Therefore, chapters should be able to provide necessary technology. RSA will assist with promoting the event, which would ideally occur during February, March, or April of 2019.
Webinar proposals should be submitted online no later than Friday, December 7. Proposals must include the following:
- A primary contact person
- A rationale for the webinar (500 words maximum)
- A description of the technology the chapter will use
Submissions may also include an event budget if your chapter anticipates needing support. Funding is available up to $500.
