2011 RSA Career Retreat for Associate Professors

Cheryl Geisler, Simon Fraser University
Patricia Roberts-Miller, University of Texas at Austin

Whether you are looking to establish networking, jumpstart a project, or strategize your commitments, the third annual RSA Career Retreat for Associate Professors will give you access to mentors and colleagues to support your move toward promotion to full professor. The Career Retreat offers you the opportunity to work with a senior member of the RSA who has agreed to serve as a Career Mentor to help you:

  • Analyze your current curriculum vita,
  • Develop an action plan to achieve promotion to full professor, and
  • Join a writing workgroup to sustain you once the Career Retreat is completed.

Following the Retreat, your writing workgroup will keep in touch on a monthly basis and check in with your Career Mentor every few months. The Career Retreat is open to all associate professors.  Women and underrepresented minorities are particularly encouraged to apply.

To apply, please email your name, institution, and a 100-word explanation of what you would like to accomplish in the Retreat to Cheryl Geisler at cgeisler@sfu.ca. Space is limited to 15 participants.
