Final Reminder -- Invitation to join the 2012 RSA Research Network

Greetings everyone,

The deadline for applying to the 2012 RSA Research Network is fast approaching: Wednesday, November 30, 2011.

WHAT IS THE RESEARCH NETWORK?

If you are new to the profession and would like to receive feedback on a scholarly project (or if you know someone who would), the research network is for you. Experienced scholars in rhetoric studies invite newer members of our profession, especially but not only graduate students, to apply to meet in a peer review group with experienced scholars plus 3-4 other scholars new to the profession. The 1/2-day peer-conferencing session (a boxed lunch is included!) will be held on Saturday, May 26, at the 2012 RSA Conference in Philadelphia.

WHO WILL LEAD THE SESSIONS?

Don't miss this exciting opportunity to meet with one of these experienced scholars:

• Ralph Cintrón (University of Illinois-Chicago) • Chris Farris (Indiana University) • Cara Finnegan, (University of Illinois) • Shirley Wilson Logan (University of Maryland) • Carolyn Miller (NC State U) • Roxanne Mountford (U of Kentucky) • Lester Olson (U of Pittsburgh) • Kendall Phillips (Syracuse U) • Krista Ratcliffe (Marquette University) • Jack Selzer (Penn State University) • David Zarefsky (Northwestern University)

HOW TO APPLY?

Applying is easy. All you need to do is fill out an online form and then email a 1-p abstract of your scholarly project (in whatever state of completion it may be in). Once the groups are selected, the group leader will inform you how you may all trade drafts so that you may all read one another's work before the conference peer review.
