RSA - 2013 Institute - Quality - Lawrence!

Greetings from Lawrence,

In an e-bulletin of two weeks ago, I brought your attention to the quality of the intellectual program planned for the 2013 RSA Institute in Lawrence, KS. Even this morning, as I was looking over the list of sessions leaders, I was blown away by the sheer number of top-tier folks from all over the discipline of rhetoric that have committed to come to Lawrence next summer. I know I'm not the only one. The applications are now rolling in, and this, I take it, is the best possible confirmation of a quality program.

Last week, I wrote you about some cost-cutting measures. We're still working hard on that front.

Today, I want to bring your attention to a fact that you may have overlooked: the Institute is in Lawrence! Founded in 1854 with the express purpose of ensuring that Kansas entered the Union as a free-state, twice-burned by pro-slavery interests, Lawrence has a rich (and well-preserved) political history. Adjacent to KU's pristine campus, Lawrence features a vibrant downtown: filled with independent coffee shops, bookstores, galleries, bike shops, restaurants, and breweries, the place locals refer to as "Mass Street" has something for everyone. Lawrence is consistently rated one of the best college towns in America. For a complete listing of Lawrence's accolades (and any other Lawrence facts), check out this site: http://www.visitlawrence.com/fast-facts. What a place to host an Institute!

Do you want to come? I hope so. The program will stimulate your intellectual trajectory, and the setting is perfect. Remember: the Application Deadline is October 1. Apply Now HERE!  There is still room for you to join us.

I'll send you one more reminder next week.

Do you have questions? Please ask me.

Yours in Lawrence,
Dave Tell
