Dr. Katelyn Jetelina is a violence and injury epidemiologist with formal training in mixed methods and health services research. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, Human Genetics, and Environmental Sciences at the University of Texas Health Science Center, School of Public Health. Her research program centers around improving healthcare access for populations exposed to violence by characterizing multi-level factors related to healthcare quality outcomes. She has worked with numerous health systems to integrate community services and improve medical care for children exposed to bullying victimization, homelessness, and Child Protective Services. Among adults, she has improved behavioral health access for police officers exposed to traumatic calls and connected oncology patients, who were victims of intimate partner violence, to victim services in the community.
