The Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research and Policy, along with the Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit, are pleased to offer the 2021 SAVIR Virtual Conference on April 5-9, in partnership with the SAVIR Planning Committee and SAVIR Board.

Keynote Speakers
We are excited to have Dr. Chandra L. Ford and Dr. Shanthi Ameratunga as our keynote speakers.
Dr. Ford is a Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences and a Founding Director of the Center for the Study of Racism, Social Justice & Health at the UCLA, Fielding School of Public Health. She is also the editor of the book Racism: Science & Tools for the Public Health Professional.
Dr. Ameratunga is a Professor in the School of Population Health at the University of Auckland and a Senior Researcher for Counties Manukau Health in Auckland.

Closing Speakers
We are honored to have Captain Holly Billie and Dr. Nhan Tran as our closing speakers.
CAPT Holly Billie (Navajo) is a commissioned officer in the US Public Health Service and currently serves as the Indian Health Service (IHS) Injury Prevention Program Manager. CAPT Billie also worked at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention National Center for Injury Prevention and Control serving as the IHS liaison and subject matter expert on tribal road safety.
Dr. Nhan Tran is the Coordinator of the Unintentional Injury Prevention Team (UIP) within the Department for Management of Noncommunicable Diseases, Disability, Violence and Injury Prevention (NVI) at the WHO. He coordinates work in the areas of unintentional injury prevention, focused mainly on road safety, injury surveillance/surveys and alcohol and drug-related injuries.
New Presenter Guidelines and Attendee Code of Conduct
Thanks to the Anti-Racism Interest Group, we have new Health Equity Guidelines for Conference Presenters as well as a Code of Conduct for Conference Attendees.
These documents will be sent out to presenters and attendees prior to the conference and will also be available to view on the conference platform and the SAVIR website . Please make sure to read these important documents prior to attending the conference.

Editors from Injury Epidemiology, Violence and Victims, Injury Prevention, Journal of Primary Prevention, and PMC Public Health will share and answer questions about the peer review process, preparing a manuscript, and serving as a reviewer.
