SCCFA members Timothy Amoui and Shayda Frost, owners of Lincoln Memorial Group in Atlanta, were recently featured on CNBC Make It’s How I Made It, bringing national attention to cemetery ownership, the deathcare profession, and the important work being done by operators across the South.
The segment, titled “We Quit Our Jobs To Run A Cemetery Business” follows Amoui and Frost’s transition from careers in Los Angeles to leading Lincoln Memorial Group, which operates four working cemeteries in Georgia. In the video, they share insight into what it is like to own and operate a cemetery company, the fundamentals of the business model, and the opportunities that exist for the next generation of cemetery and funeral professionals.
The feature also highlights an important message for the broader profession: cemetery and deathcare businesses can offer meaningful, resilient, and rewarding career paths, even for those who may not have grown up in the industry or entered it with extensive prior experience. At their core, these businesses are about service — helping families during some of life’s most difficult moments while stewarding places of remembrance for generations to come.
For SCCFA, the national spotlight is a reminder of the value and importance of the work our members do every day. Across the southern region, cemetery, cremation, and funeral professionals continue to serve families, preserve community history, and demonstrate the professionalism, care, and commitment that define this industry.
