San Antonio Showed The Southern at Its Best

It feels like only yesterday that we were together in San Antonio, but the passing weeks have given us another opportunity to reflect on just how successful the 2026 SCCFA Convention & Family Reunion truly was.

Held in partnership with the Texas Cemeteries & Crematories Association and the South Carolina Cemetery Association, the convention brought cemetery, cremation, funeral and supplier professionals together for three outstanding days of education, exhibits, networking and fellowship.

Strong attendance, well-received educational sessions, an active exhibit hall and exceptional participation from our vendors and sponsors all exceeded expectations. Attendees heard from leading executives, operators, educators and advocates on the issues shaping the future of deathcare—from changing consumer expectations and workforce trends to cemetery growth, leadership, compliance and the family experience.

Just as importantly, San Antonio gave us the chance to reconnect with longtime friends, welcome new faces and strengthen relationships across our profession. The combination of meaningful education, generous hospitality and a genuine willingness to help one another succeed is exactly what makes The Southern so special.

The convention was a powerful reminder that SCCFA is more than a professional association. It is a community united by fellowship, shared purpose and a commitment to serving families with dignity.

Building on the tremendous momentum from San Antonio, we already cannot wait for the 2027 Convention & Family Reunion in Franklin, Tennessee. Next year, six state associations representing Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and West Virginia will come together for what promises to be another unforgettable gathering of The Southern family.

We look forward to sharing more details—and welcoming everyone to Franklin—in the months ahead.
