The ELCA will host its first Rostered Ministers Gathering in Atlanta at the Sheraton Downtown Aug. 7-10. This will be an opportunity for our rostered ministers to assemble for worship, education and fellowship.
We will gather under the theme of “On the Way…Together,” inspired by the road to Emmaus story (Luke 24:13-35). We are a church that believes God is calling us into the world – together. Together, we can achieve things on a scale and scope we could never do otherwise. As we continue to deepen our ecumenical partnerships, confront racism and boldly respond to the needs of the world, this gathering provides the opportunity for leaders to gather and explore what God has in store for us.
Keynote speakers are...Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton, The Rev. Dr. James Alexander Forbes, Jr., and Rachel Held Evans.
Bible study leaders are...Rev. Dr. Troy M. Troftgruben, Rev. Dr. Javier (Jay) Alanis, and Rev. Dr. Shauna Hannan.
Two pre-events will allow time for federal chaplains and young rostered ministers (20’s and 30’s) to gather in advance.
