Pastor E. Dale Click, 94, was a son of Rockway Lutheran, Springfield. He was a graduate of Wittenberg (1941) and Hamma (1944). Besides serving in California and Pennsylvania, he was a long time pastor of First Lutheran Church, Dayton.

In retirement Pastor Click spent seven years as an Interim Pastor in California, was a chaplain several times a year on Princess and Holland America cruise lines. He was also the author of 17 books. He continued these efforts until two weeks before his death. He was honored as Outstanding Alumnus of Trinity (Hamma) in 2011.

Memorials are asked to be directed to Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus for the support of a Chair on Evangelism and in memory of him.

All of the profits from Pastor Click's books on Evangelism, preaching, and "Through the Bible" have gone to support the effort to have a Chair on Evangelism at the seminary. He began this effort in memory of his wife, Martha Jane (Bunny) Click, who died in 1996.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Bonnie Click and Dean and Susan Click, several grandchildren, all of California, as well as nephew Larry (Nancy) Matthews, great niece Sheryl (David) Crowell, and great-great nephews, and several cousins.

All who knew him are invited to attend the graveside service on March 16.

Pastor Click grew up as a member of Rockway Lutheran Church. He preached at First Lutheran Church, Dayton, Ohio, prior to his retirement. He last visited Rockway Ev. Lutheran Church on August 26, 2013 and preached the sermon at the Sunday morning worship service. He delivered a great message. We looked forward to his visits from California, usually in the month of June. We were saddened to learn of his passing. He will be missed.
