"No one ever said on their deathbed, 'I wish I'd spent more time at the office.'"
- Mary Kay (Ash)

How up-to-date are the photos sitting on your desk? Mine are way out of date - pictures of my kids when they were shorter than waist height. I recently decided it was time to swap out a photo with another taken just a few weeks ago.

Like many people, I never bother to get rid of the photos stored in the frame when I add new ones. So as I opened the back of a 5x7" frame to replace the photo of my daughter at age six (she's now 15) - I discovered a picture of my son when he was only three years old (he's 12 now). What a surprise! I was instantly reminded how quickly time flies.

The power of a photo to preserve a moment in time is remarkable.

But no matter how many pictures we take, time keeps moving on. Our children, our family and friends, grow up and grow older - often faster than we'd like. So we have to cherish every opportunity we have to spend with them.

Not missing out on these opportunities means striking a careful balance between work and family life.

At TCS Software, we do our best to promote a good work/family balance. It has never been our priority to work 80-100 hour weeks to become the largest, fastest-growing company in our market. We know that having thousands of clients wouldn't make us any happier. Nor would our services be any better.

We prefer to know clients by name, know the needs of their organizations, and provide a much higher degree of service than found elsewhere. You simply cannot do that when you have thousands of clients.

Nicholas at Age 12Having solid tools and someone to call when you need help, helps you get your work done and helps get you home on time. Having an expert on hand - a live person who cares - goes a long way to reduce workplace stress.

Great thoughts! No matter how many evening activities there are and how busy we are, we preserve family dinner time to connect.

To make it quick and healthy during the week, we plan our meals and shop during weekends.

This gives us a good time to spend time together as a family and keep some balance during the hectic weekly schedules.
