As we move through another busy season in Virginia’s pest management industry, I want to remind every member that the Virginia Pest Management Association stands ready to serve and support you.
Whether you are an owner, manager, technician, sales professional, or industry partner, VPMA exists to help your business succeed and to strengthen our industry as a whole.
One of the most important ways we serve our members is through regulatory and legislative advocacy. Our association works continuously to represent the interests of Virginia’s pest management professionals with lawmakers, regulators, and state agencies. From pesticide regulations to workforce issues and industry policies, VPMA is committed to ensuring your voice is heard and your business interests are protected. Check out the articles in this issue recapping our participation at the NPMA Legislative Day and on State Pesticide Preemption.
VPMA also remains a leading training hub for Virginia’s pest management professionals. We are proud to provide quality educational opportunities that help our members stay informed, compliant, and competitive in an ever-evolving industry. As a reminder, pesticide recertification credits must be earned by June 30, and VPMA offers multiple training opportunities designed to help members meet those requirements while gaining practical knowledge they can apply every day in the field. Check out the upcoming training events coming up on June 10th for WDI Inspectors and the final Spring Recertification Webinar on June 17th.
Beyond advocacy and education, VPMA plays a vital role in building relationships and connections across the industry. The partnerships formed through association events, meetings, and training programs create a stronger network of professionals who support one another and work together to elevate our profession. Those relationships are invaluable—not only for individual businesses, but for the long-term success and reputation of the pest management industry in Virginia. Check out our inaugural VPMA Scholarship Golf Tournament being held September 28th – golfers and non-golfers are encouraged to join this fun event to play 18 holes with colleagues or join in for the 19th Hole Luncheon at the end of the tournament.
Thank you for your continued membership, engagement, and commitment to excellence. VPMA is proud to stand beside you, advocate for you, and help provide the resources and connections you need to thrive.
Together, we continue building a stronger future for Virginia’s pest management industry.
Sincerely,
Shannon Harlow-Ellis
President, Virginia Pest Management Association
