Reflecting on 2024 and Looking Ahead to 2025

WSPMA

As we step into 2025, I’m excited to connect with all of you—our dedicated members of the Washington State Pest Management Association (WSPMA). It’s been an eventful year, and I want to take a moment to reflect on where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re heading as an association.

Our mission to advance pest management standards and provide critical resources for our members is more important than ever. Together, we’ll continue to set the bar for excellence in our industry. In this article, I’ll share our accomplishments, goals, and how we can work together to achieve even more in the coming year.

Accomplishments in 2024

Member Engagement

Our membership continues to grow, with new pest management professionals joining from across the state. The WSPMA community is thriving, and we’ve seen increased interaction and collaboration through our events, workshops, and online forums.

Educational Programs

This past year, we launched new certification courses and expanded continuing education opportunities for our members. These initiatives ensure you stay ahead of industry trends and meet evolving regulatory requirements.

Advocacy Wins

We’ve made significant headway in local and state-level policy advocacy, ensuring pest management professionals are represented. Our efforts have focused on maintaining sustainable and effective practices within our industry.

Goals for 2025

1. Strengthening Member Support and Resources

Ensuring every member feels supported, informed, and empowered is a top priority. We’ll expand our digital resources, introduce more specialized webinars, and grow our mentorship program to foster collaboration across the industry. Our goal is to provide you with the tools you need to succeed.

2. Strengthening Public Awareness

Educating the public on the vital role we play in pest control and public health is something I’m passionate about. This year, we’ll launch campaigns to elevate the professionalism and importance of pest management, positioning WSPMA as a leader in public education.

3. Increasing Advocacy Efforts

In 2025, we’ll double down on our advocacy efforts, focusing on environmental sustainability, pesticide regulations, and worker safety. By increasing outreach to policymakers, we’ll ensure the pest management industry remains a vital and respected part of our state’s infrastructure.

4. Expanding Networking Opportunities

Networking is a powerful tool in our industry, and we aim to create even more opportunities for connection. This includes regional meetups, virtual events, and expanding our annual conference with more interactive workshops. These events are designed to help members share best practices and learn from one another.

How You Can Get Involved

None of these goals can be achieved without your active participation. Whether it’s attending an event, joining a committee, or contributing your expertise, every member has a role to play in the association’s success.

I encourage you to reach out, share your ideas, and join us in making 2025 our best year yet. Together, we’ll continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible for pest management in Washington State.

Conclusion

As we move forward into this new year, I’m excited for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. With your continued commitment, we will accomplish great things. I look forward to working alongside all of you and hearing your thoughts and feedback as we make the Washington State Pest Management Association stronger than ever.

Here’s to a productive and successful 2025!
