Spotlight on YBAA President, Gerry Laster

Gerry Laster has been involved with the boating industry for over 40 years.  His association with manufacturers, being a nationally recognized and ranked racer, experience as a delivery captain and sometimes consultant to various phases of the industry eventually culminated in his becoming a Yacht Sales Professional.  

Active in the brokerage sales community on the Texas Gulf Coast, he also spent the past several years building his dealership, developing a brand in the Houston area.  These efforts have migrated to becoming the exclusive dealer on the Texas Coast for Hanse, Dehler, Moody, Sabre and Back Cove as Manager of the local office of JK3 Nautical Enterprises. 

Gerry is the current President of YBAA, past President of Gulf Coast Yacht Brokers Association (GCYBA), serves on the Certification Advisory Council (CAC) for CPYB, and is the 2011-2012 recipient of the GCYBA Broker of the Year award.

As YBAA’s elected leader for 2014, Gerry works with the other eleven members of the YBAA board and is supported by the association’s staff team, headquartered in Annapolis, MD.
