OADA’s Endorsed Choice for Workers’ Compensation Managed Care
MCO open enrollment is Monday, April 30 to Friday, May 25, 2012
If you are one of the nearly 700 dealerships that is currently enrolled with CareWorks, you are already partnered with OADA’s endorsed MCO. You need not do anything during this year’s MCO Open Enrollment, you will be automatically re-enrolled with CareWorks!
In 1996 the Health Partnership Program and Managed Care Organizations were created. Its focus was and still is to provide the highest quality of medical management to help Ohio’s injured employees. Recognizing the critical role medial management plays in reducing the costs of workers’ compensation claims, OADA was the first association to endorse CareWorks for its members. Since that time CareWorks has become Ohio’s largest MCO, medically managing nearly one in three workers compensation injuries.
- Within CareWorks, OADA has been assigned to Team #5 (Adam Smith, Case Manager & Debie Spain RN) who handle ALLOADA member claims.
- This expertise and knowledge of dealerships, dealership employees and the associated injuries is invaluable in returning injured workers back to work and reducing costs.
- Last year alone CareWorks saved OADA members over $2.7 million compared to billed charges on the medical portion of their workers’ compensation claims through network discounts and sophisticated bill repricing services.
- Team #5 receives monthly pharmaceutical reports from BWC. While MCOs are not responsible for dispensing or paying for medications (performed by a 3rd party vendor) they believe the close monitoring of injured workers prescriptions is vital in ensuring a safe and smooth transition back into the workforce. Reduces costs as well as abuse.
- CareWorks has the #1 ranking in return to work over the past 9 years. This historical rating is important as it is not based on a brief period of time as selected by some MCOs in their marketing campaign.
