Robert Gessner Reappointed to FCC's CSRIC

From ACA:

ACA Chairman Gessner Thanks FCC's Wheeler For CSRIC Post

American Cable Association Chairman Bob Gessner, who is President of MCTV in Massillon, Oh., issued the following statement on June 18 regarding his reappointment by FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler to the re-chartered Communications Security, Reliability, and Interoperability Council (CSRIC), a federal advisory committee that provides recommendations to the FCC on actions the FCC can take to improve the security and reliability of communications systems:

"I want to thank FCC Chairman Wheeler for honoring me with this reappointment to CSRIC V.  I look forward to contributing to the development of recommendations, best practices and other activities that will be good for consumers, communities and companies by enhancing public safety and network reliability and security.  Some of this work will focus on improving cybersecurity.  ACA members are no different from other ISPs and the public and private sectors more broadly, in that they regularly face malicious sneak cyberattacks.  ACA members take the responsibility to protect their networks seriously and look forward to the work of CSRIC V and appreciate the helpful work of prior CSRICs in this area."

ACA President and CEO Matthew M. Polka said in a statement:

"We appreciate that the American Cable Association has a seat on the council, and we are proud of the time and commitment of Bob Gessner to the vitally important work conducted by CSRIC."
