David Hoffer Named Massillon Cable TV COO

David Hoffer earns Massillon Cable TV, Inc.
Chief Operating Officer title

 
David Hoffer was named Chief Operating Officer of Massillon Cable TV, Inc. and its subsidiaries effective January 1, 2010.  Dave has filled a number of different roles at Massillon Cable TV involving finance, purchasing, technology, customer care, new product introduction and more during his 13 year career with Massillon Cable TV. 

 Dave graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and received his CPA certificate from the State of Ohio.  Dave's career has included working for Deloitte & Touche LLP on the audit and small business practices staff, as well as for a number of manufacturing firms.  Dave was also a founding partner of CAD Warehouse Inc., the largest mail order computer aided drafting reseller in North America.  CAD Warehouse was later acquired by a division of Lockheed Martin.

 Massillon Cable TV President Robert Gessner said, "Dave is the logical choice to be our COO.  We aren't big on titles around here, but it is time to make it official.  Basically, Dave has been involved in all aspects of the company.  Like many companies in our industry, we have spent the past dozen years transforming ourselves.  Since our HFC rebuild in 1997, we have been changing from a distributor of one product (analog video) to a broadband provider of video, data and voice.  Dave has been with us throughout that evolution: the launch of our dial-up ISP and the successful conversion to cable modems, the introduction of residential phone service, commercial phone service, dedicated fiber services, digital video simulcast and our big change to an all-digital/no analog video provider.  Our company is now a digital company.  We need a digital leader.  Dave's experience with all of those changes and his extensive knowledge of the IP world make him a logical choice for this position.  Massillon Cable TV has a history as a company that puts customers first, likes to be early with industry initiatives and, despite our size, tries some new things all on our own.  Dave is a perfect fit.  He has a background in accounting and finance.  He has clearly shown his dedication to constant improvement in efficiency, innovation and customer care.  And, he has his own successful entrepreneurial experience.  I am very pleased with our Board's unanimous decision to name Dave to this position and even more pleased that Dave is willing to do it." 

Dave is responsible for coordinating the operations of the company's two cable systems (Massillon Cable TV and Clear Picture), its ISP (Massillon Cable Communications) plus its new CLEC operation (Super-Net, Inc.).
