Mr. Walker was involved in the design and construction of the cellular infrastructure in Ohio, Michigan, and Puerto Rico; engineering the Virgin Media fiber and data networks throughout the UK; developing the pre-paid wireless infrastructure for North America and Central and Latin America, and was involved with some of the first deployments of IPTV over copper in Southern US markets.
“Richard comes to us with a wealth of experience in the telecommunications arena and will contribute to Buckeye’s continued stellar service and value to our customers in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan,” Mr. Jensen said.
Mr. Walker and his wife Beth and three daughters are in the process of relocating to Toledo from Bardstown, Kentucky.
Mr. Shryock joined Buckeye in 1987 as director of management information services, and was promoted to vice president of information technology in 2002. He is a native of Arkansas and holds a bachelor of industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas and a master of business administration from the University of Toledo. Prior to joining Buckeye, Mr. Shryock held various information systems positions since 1978 with Owens-Corning and it subsidiaries, and also with the Ethyl Corp.., in Baton Rouge, LA, in the mid-1970s.
“During Paul’s tenure at Buckeye, the telecommunications industry saw a radical transformation in services and technology, and Paul helped to guide the company through this significant change,” Mr. Jensen said. “He will be missed for both his technical expertise and his humor.”
