History of Iowa ASC Association
A small group of administrators initially began the formation of the state organization in the fall of 2005. With the support of the national association, the state association was officially organized in 2006 and continued to develop throughout 2007. Members wanted an opportunity to collaborate with each other and support each other as they worked to provide quality, cost-effective care for patients. The Iowa Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers works to provide education; to promote the safety and efficiency in the ambulatory surgery center; to influence state legislation and regulations affecting ambulatory surgical care; to collaborate with other organizations on state and federal issues; and to provide members professional growth opportunities.
