MassDEP Reduce, Reuse, Repair Micro-Grants for 2025

Application open

An upcoming grant opportunity has become available for those working on reuse and repair initiatives: this year’s MassDEP Reduce, Reuse, Repair Micro-Grants!

This grant program provides awards from $3,000 – $10,000 for projects that reduce waste through donation, sharing, rescue, reuse, and/or repair. Businesses, nonprofits, schools and colleges, regional authorities, and municipalities are all eligible to apply. Projects must be based in Massachusetts and may take up to one year to complete. Recycling and composting projects are not eligible.

Applications for this year’s Micro-Grants open April 15 and will be available on the webpage linked above. All applications are due May 15 by 5:00 p.m. ET.

Got a project in mind? Review the Micro-Grant Guidelines. They provide a comprehensive overview of the grant, including project ideas, criteria used to evaluate proposals, eligible uses of funds, timeline information, and a glossary of key terms.

After the application opens, questions must be submitted in writing to Leah Kelleher, at leah.kelleher@mass.gov. Questions are due April 29 by 5:00 p.m., and answers will be posted to the Micro-Grant webpage on May 2.
