If you plan to fly to any upcoming SSA state or national events, make sure you have a REAL ID. Starting this Wednesday (May 7), all passengers on U.S. domestic flights are required to present a federally-compliant REAL ID (ID card or driver’s license), U.S. passport, or other form of acceptable ID to board any domestic flight. A standard state driver’s license will no longer be acceptable to board a flight.
A REAL ID should have a star (and/or flag) like the example pictured or say “Enhanced” on it. Absent an acceptable form of identification, a passenger may not be permitted to get on the plane. A REAL ID can be obtained from your state’s Department of Motor Vehicles. More information can be found here.
