A lot of people do. Some folks use it just to shuttle prospective guest to show units, others use them for maintenance things. Still other use it for both (or just to have fun when the snow/ice is packed j/k). Most of all, I think it really depends on the size of the facility and weather you actually need one.

We have 2 golf carts...one is the "customer" cart for showing units, taking red locks off, etc. The other is the "maintenance cart" which has a ladder strapped to the top and tools on the back, but can be used in a pinch if we have multiple customers wanting to see units. If you have more than 500 units, I would recommend 2 carts. Otherwise, one employee will have the cart at the back of the property cleaning or doing maintenance work, and you'll need it in the office to show a unit.

We have a golf cart but my manager prefers to walk for exercise reasons. I do encourage him to use it when we have customers to show units though. Every facility needs one in my opinion!

Lisa does bring up an excellent point. I can't tell you how many times we will have the cart in the back for maintenance or with another guest and need it to show a 2nd guest.

It happens several times a month. If you are selling it as a "Full Service" storage facility aka High End, it certainly helps sell that image.
