West Central Surgical Center has an exciting and rewarding career opportunity for a Full-Time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to work in our pain management practice.

As a key member of the surgical team, the CRNA provides direct care, according to the guidelines established by the Medical Director and Program Director, to all patients in the procedure phase of their visit and maintains a thorough knowledge of Anesthesia practice according to scope and guidelines.

The CRNA is responsible for providing on-site anesthesia services to patients during procedures, maintaining patient safety in the procedure rooms, assisting in direct patient care, and performing medication and supply checks for anesthesia carts.

Core Responsibilities: Performs pre-anesthesia assessments on all patients prior to anesthesia induction and develops a plan of care that is communicated/documented for other care providers; directly involves the patient and/or family in care decisions. Provides anesthesia care in accordance with applicable state, federal, and AAAHC regulations, as well as professional standards of practice. Protects the patient’s safety during the procedure. Works collaboratively with administration to develop and maintain policies and procedures. Applies administrative principles and management techniques in assessing, planning, leading, evaluating, delegating, and educating. Demonstrates responsibility for continued professional growth, competence, and development. Ensures equipment is well-maintained and meets all safety standards. Supervises the patient’s post-anesthesia recovery – every patient’s post-procedure status is consistently assessed on admission to and discharge from the PACU. Provides required training and confirmation of competency for the RN staff providing the administration of minimal to moderate sedation. Complies with the Core Values, Mission and Philosophy of the ASC. Collaborates with other health care professionals in meeting departmental goals. Establishes and maintains mechanisms for communication and constructive problem solving with the staff. Utilizes a team approach in decision-making and problem solving. Builds trust and mutual respects. Supports and promotes decentralized model for decision-making. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Credentials: Graduate of an approved school of nursing and school of anesthesia. Current license to practice nursing in the state of Ohio with CRNA endorsement. Current certification from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. ACLS certification.

Required Skills & Experience: Experience must be commensurate with the role and responsibilities of the solo practitioner in an ambulatory surgery center. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to safely and consistently administer anesthesia care in accordance with regulatory and professional standards of practice. Ability to input and retrieve information utilizing a computer and EHR software. Ability to understand directions, effectively communicate and respond to inquiries. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills. Physical Demands / Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to / exposed to: Move about and between workstations. Continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting of medium materials. Frequent pushing, pulling and squatting; occasional sitting, kneeling and climbing stairs.
