Ohio Temporary Tag Update - Print-on-Demand Resource Coming Soon

As you are most likely aware, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) has reported that the supply of Ohio Temporary Tags is low.  As a result, the BMV is limiting the amount of temp tags that can be ordered by dealers at one time and asks dealers to conserve the temp tags as much as possible.  As a reminder, temp tags cannot be issued if a customer has a transferrable plate under Ohio law.

Additionally, the BMV is accelerating a Print-on-Demand Temp Tag program and hoping to release it by June 26, 2020.  For more information regarding the Print-on-Demand program, please see the message from the BMV HERE

The program is designed to help dealers register, download, and print Ohio temporary tags through the DLR system without ordering stock through the BMV. The BMV has stated that there will be minimal changes to the DLR system.

When the Print on Demand program goes live, Dealers are advised to exhaust their current stock of temp tags before using the Print on Demand program. The BMV will not be issuing refunds for physical temp tags dealers have been issued.
