Committees
OAIMA Membership provides an Opportunity to lead and network through participation in the following Committees:
Annual Meeting
This Committee organizes the program content and speakers for the OAIMA annual meeting held each November in Columbus, Ohio.
Awards & Nominating Committee
The purpose of the Awards & Nominating Committee is to recognize industry leaders, as well as legislative, regulatory and stakeholder partners that work to advance the objectives of OAIMA.
By recognizing those who excel in the areas of the environment, education, reclamation, transportation, safety and compliance, the positive contributions of our industry and those that work in it are emphasized and celebrated.
Environmental
The Environmental Committee works on a wide variety of topics such as water, wetlands, air emissions, permitting, zoning and many more. This Committee works closely with governmental agencies that regulate our industry.
Golf
This committee plans and organizes the OAIMA Annual Golf Outing, plus a 4 State Golf Challenge and an Ohio/Indiana Golf Challenge. This Committee is responsible for organizing the golf venues and arranging the type of play and prizes.
HR/Workforce Development
The OAIMA Human Resources & Workforce Committee works collaboratively to change the perception of the aggregates and construction industry while keeping employers up to date with regulatory issues directly related to HR. The committee promotes, encourages, and supports the MACC Tech (Mining Asphalt Concrete and Construction Technology) Program through cooperative industry and educational engagement.

- Promotes Jobs and Careers in the industry.
- Supports the MACC Tech Program
Legislative
This Committee works with a variety of state and federal government agencies that are related to and directly affect, our industry. The Committee also plans and hosts the OAIMA Legislative Reception in the spring as well as an annual Washington, D.C. Fly-In. This Committee keeps a very close watch on legislation that is related to our industry and maintains a grassroots network that helps inform our state and federal lawmakers of the industry's needs and concerns.
Public Relations
This Committee works with the National Science Teachers Association, National Energy Foundation and National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association and many others to promote the mining industry as a whole in Ohio. OAIMA also helps with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources - Teachers Workshop held in conjunction with Akron University. OAIMA also has a unique display that is available to any member company for use at Fairs and public display situations. This display represents the aggregates and industrial minerals industries, and helps explain our value to the community.
Safety
The Safety Committee keeps an eye on safety issues that could affect OAIMA members. This committee works closely with the Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources - Division of Mineral Resources Management safety group.
Technical
This Committee works very closely with the Ohio Department of Transportation and other Ohio trade association and labs with regard to local, regional and national specifications. OAIMA offers quality control and quality assurance training throughout the year - Level I & Level II Ohio Aggregate Technician Training
Transportation
Our Transportation Committee works with the Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio Trucking Association and Ohio's legislators on material transportation issues and ODOT transportation related problems, Federal Highway Administrations transportation issues and with the rail roads.
