OCRA conducts an educational annual conference each spring that offers between 1.2 to 1.5 CEUs on a variety of topics to keep you on top of the profession. In addition, we offer additional educational opportunities at various times throughout the year. Members receive reduced and priority registration. OCRA also works directly with NCRA to stay abreast of certification updates and industry happenings across the nation.

Types of Membership
Professional Court Reporter ($125 per year)
This option is for the court reporting professional who wants to receive the most OCRA has to offer. We welcome any person who is skilled and primarily engaged in the verbatim stenographic reporting of proceedings by the use of symbols, manually, or by stenographic machine.
Associate ($60 per year)
This option is for those individuals who are not actively engaged in court reporting as a primary profession, but that are affiliated in other ways such as:
- A teacher of reporting
- An individual connected in an official capacity with a school or college conducting a reporting course
- An individual who has been certified by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) as a Certified Legal Video Specialist (CLVS)
- An individual interested in the preservation, support, and advancement of the field of verbatim reporting, such as providers of reporting equipment, paralegals, attorneys, judges, et cetera.
Student ($25 per year)
Any individual currently enrolled in a stenographic court reporting instructional program and not actively engaged in stenographic court reporting. (Student membership runs September 1 through August 31)
Retired ($30 per year)
Any Active Member in good standing who has paid Active Member dues for a period of 20 consecutive years and is no longer engaged in verbatim reporting shall be eligible to become a Retired Member.
OCRA offers two membership cycles:
January 1 through December 31
OR
July 1 through June 30
Membership is not pro-rated and will be established within the billing cycle received.
Dues received October 1 through April 30 will be applied to the January - December membership cycle.
Dues received May 1 through September 30 will be applied to the July - June membership cycle.
