The Gerard V. Yu, DPM Scientific Paper Competition and 2025 Resident Poster Competition will be held during the 109th Annual Ohio Foot and Ankle Scientific Seminar.
This is an opportunity for active resident members of the Ohio Foot and Ankle Medical Association to showcase their talent and hard work in the presentation of their research.
2024 competition finalists received over $3,000 in cash and prizes!

Scientific Paper Competition - Submissions Due by February 7, 2025 and Finalists will be Notified by April 17, 2025
Residents finalists will present their research to a panel of five judges on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. The papers are first evaluated by a panel of five blind judges with no information about who submitted the paper or the program that it was submitted from. The blind judges scores are then added to the onsite presentation judges scores to determine the winner of the competition.
Scientific Poster Competition - Submissions Due by February 7, 2025 and Finalists will be Notified by April 17, 2025
The 2024 Ohio Resident Poster Competition received 24 submissions. The submissions were evaluated by a separate panel of five judges to determine the winner. The five finalists presented a brief 5 minute presentation following the paper presentations on Thursday, May 16, 2024. A special thank you to the seven Ohio Residency programs that participated with the 2024 competition.
The 2025 Competition finalists will present their posters following the resident paper competition on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. The poster submissions are evaluated by a separate panel of judges to determine the winners.
