Please note that the two-day event will be hosted in person following guidance from both the Ohio Department of Health and CDC to prioritize the wellbeing of participants, presenters, and staff. Virtual participation will not be made available due to the collaborative nature of the training.

Important Information Regarding the Event

OJFSDA’s fall New Director Orientation will be held October 25-26, 2021 at Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center (100 Green Meadows Drive South, Lewis Center, Ohio). Despite the title, the event is designed to be beneficial for a range of local executive JFS employees, including directors, financial officers, assistant directors, and staff involved in succession planning. Historically, more than half of those who participate have been non-directors.

This orientation is the second in our annual two-part training series with the fall event focused on human resources and the spring geared toward fiscal topics.

The tentative agenda demonstrates the breadth of content that will be covered over the course of the two days.

 

How to Register

There is no charge for new CDJFS Directors to attend the orientation. The $395 registration rate for all other participants includes overnight accommodations Monday night, all meals, and access to the event app. Those preferring to arrive Sunday evening may extend their reservation for an additional $129, which is applicable to all registrants.

With high-demand and space constraints, the training will be strictly limited to 25 participants. Additionally, to make the registration process more equitable, registrations will be accepted on a tiered basis with priority given first to new CDJFS Directors followed by those who have completed the fiscal training and wish to complete the series. The remaining slots will be filled with other registrants in the order their registrations were received. Confirmation of attendance will be sent to individual registrants after registration closes no later than October 5th.
