Eastman’s ‘Fall Turnaround’ Brings 1,300 More Workers to Longview Area

The 2025 “fall turnaround,” a major maintenance project at Eastman Chemical Co., is bringing more than 1,000 people to the Longview area for the next few months.  The city announced that more than 1,300 contractor employees from 25-30 companies will be in the community while the work is taking place. That’s in addition to Eastman’s 1,000 full-time employees.  The maintenance work will last about nine to 10 weeks, the city of Longview reports, and it is “a vital investment in safety, reliability, and growth at the facility. For Longview, it also means thousands of additional people are shopping, dining, and staying in the community.”

The city warned residents of heavier than normal traffic near the Eastman facility during this time.  Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time around the Interstate 20 access road, Loop 281 and U.S. 259 intersections during shift changes, typically 5:30–7:00 a.m. and 6:30–8:00 p.m.
