WECT-TV in Wilmington NC, is seeking a Digital Marketing Producer for our social media platforms which also includes shared-services partner, WSFX-TV. This team player has a real nose for news, thrives on breaking news, and is creative, enthusiastic and solution oriented. Ideal candidate is a self-starter, knowledgeable and proficient with social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and others with a willingness to learn multiple systems and platforms. This position will work closely with the marketing department, and individual newsroom personnel daily to increase engagement in social media and evaluate the daily performance based on review of metric analytics.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: weekly and bi-weekly contesting on the various platforms, recruiting new fans and converting them to likes, page views and viewers, web content contribution when available plus support of promotion and sales initiatives on social media. A positive attitude and successful interpersonal skills are essential. Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include some nights and weekends.
Qualities desired: College degree, strong verbal and written communication skills. A preferred journalism background with excellent writing skills and proficiency in AP style, and a solid grasp of basic computer skills. Must be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work well with a diverse group of people. HTML, Photoshop, digital video editing, and WorldNow Producer content management system experience helpful. This position reports directly to the Marketing Director. Final candidates must have a clean driving record and pass a drug screening.
