Engineering Manager
WECT-TV
WECT Television is seeking an Engineering Manager. Job functions include maintaining and installing equipment at the studio and transmitter facilities for WECT-TV and WSFX-TV. Position requirements include providing engineering support to all news and production operations, maintaining working knowledge of station equipment and operations to provide assistance and training as necessary to station personnel. Applicant should have a strong background in information technology and knowledge of IP networking, computer and software maintenance, broadcast automation systems, production switching, camera equipment and digital television transmitting equipment. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, installation, and repairs on equipment at the studio and transmitter facilities. Responsibilities also include keeping the station’s technical operation in compliance with FCC rules and terms of the station’s FCC authorizations. The ability to be able to assume occasional operation of the ENG truck for remote TV broadcasting of news or community events would be a plus. Valid driver’s license; ability to lift 50 lbs. or more; ability to climb ladders and work on elevated surfaces; night and weekend work will occasionally be required on an on-call basis.
