| Description | Scheduled Days & Hours: Ability to work a flexible schedule is essential. Education: College degree preferred; Broadcast Journalism or Communication emphasis preferred. Skills: Candidate must have superb leadership and time management abilities as well as technical knowledge and skills; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to simultaneously direct and technical direct fast paced newscast and other productions; thorough knowledge of broadcast newsroom operations essential; ability to make decisions and work closely with others under pressure; excellent organizational skills; strong knowledge of journalistic standards; computer proficiency. Experience: Newscast directing experience; knowledge of Production Switchers (Sony MVS 8000 is a plus), Graphics Systems, Non-Linear Editing, Studio Lighting and Field Production preferred. Duties: Director must be skilled enough to run ELC automation system as well as manually Direct/Technical Direct assigned live and recorded programming utilizing our Sony MVS 8000G. Additionally, the Director must be capable of completing commercial production assignments including field production and post production non-linear editing; directing live to digital programs; filling in to direct as needed; and supervising tech staff as needed. Candidates will also be required to assist in other roles as part of the station's production team, including Graphics, Audio, Studio Robotics, Satellite Operations and Master Control.
