iHeart Media in Greenville SC has an immediate opening for a Market Engineering Manager with experience in RF and general electronics, digital audio, NexGen (or similar systems) and working knowledge of IT including LAN/WAN systems. There are 4 FM's and 2 AM with studios and 6 transmitter sites.
Responsibilities:
o Maintains overall digital broadcasting electronic systems and related equipment for optimum transmission/broadcast performance
o Maintains traditional radio and digital broadcasting electronic systems and equipment used to ensure optimum transmission and/or broadcast performance including electromechanical equipment such as switchers, consoles, transmitters, transceivers, and radio/voice modems.
o Responds to equipment outages, malfunctions, and related technical problems.
o Conducts diagnostic testing, repair and replacement activities.
o Provides information technology solutions and services in the design, development, modification, implementation, and maintenance of cost-effective infrastructure.
o Documents equipment maintenance, repair, and replacements.
o Decides test equipment, parts, and related tools needed for use in maintenance and repair. Installs, maintains, and supports desktop computer equipment for internal users.
o May maintain and repair information technology systems for assigned stations/locations.
o May have responsibility for maintenance and upkeep of company-owned facilities, buildings, and transmitters.
o Responsibilities include compliance with FCC rules and regulations, budgeting, and 24/7 on call.
Qualifications
Requires 5 + Years background in Broadcast Engineering with ability to install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment including AM and FM broadcast transmitters and transmission systems.
o Must be self-motivated.
o Must be able to lift 50 pounds and possess a valid driver's license.
Education - Associate level degree in Electronics or equivalent preferred.
Certification - General Class FCC license, SBE certification
