Compass Homes’ Project Featured on HGTV

A Compass Homes’ project currently being constructed for lottery winners was recently spotlighted on HGTV.

After winning $2 million in the Ohio Lottery’s Top Prize Drawing, Kim and Tim Thompson chose Compass Homes to build their dream home in Upper Arlington. The couple currently live in the 1,100-square-foot, single-bath Upper Arlington home where Tim grew up and which he has owned for 30 years.

The Thompsons’ house hunt, and their decision to build with Compass, was featured in an HGTV reality show, My Lottery Dream Home. The show includes an appearance by Pamela Cinelli, director of sales & marketing for Compass Homes.

Compass Homes broke ground this spring on the Thompsons’ new Upper Arlington home. Compass has a niche building new in-fill homes in Upper Arlington.

The luxurious five-bedroom, 4 1/2-bath home is almost three times the size of the Thompsons’ current home. Compass president Mark Braunsdorf designed a long, narrow house to fit the 50 foot wide lot. The custom home will include a first floor suite specially designed for Kim Thompson’s 82-year-old mother.

Priced at more than $500,000, the home will have features Kim Thompson always wanted, including hand-scraped Amish wood floors, a farmhouse sink, upscale carpets and a greenhouse.

An HGTV crew came to Columbus to film the Thompsons visiting existing homes in Bexley and Upper Arlington before deciding to build with Compass. The show, which aired on March 4, showed the couple going over home design with Cinelli.

Cinelli said she was “blown away” by the large size of the HGTV crew. “They filmed me for about three-and-a-half hours.”
