PWB August Meeting: Recap

On August 5th, the Professional Women in Building Council had a successful in-person AND zoom meeting at Custom Distributor’s Appliance Showroom in Worthington. This year, the council is enhancing membership meetings by asking women in leadership to present their passion.  At our most recent meeting, Kathy Jackson, NBC4i’s Remarkable Woman of the Year 2020, was the guest speaker.  Kathy is well connected in the greater Columbus volunteer community.  She has connections to over 50 organizations- providing food, clothes, hygiene products, toys, furniture, construction materials, you name it!  She has a connection to a need for almost anything!

The members of PWB who attended the meeting were inspired and encouraged by Kathy’s examples of kindness and respect she has for people in need.  Immediately after the meeting, one of our members made a connection with Kathy to provide building materials for a homeless organization to distribute.  Several other members of the council have committed to community involvement in other ways.  Along with providing professional development resources, encouraging career development within the industry, part of the mission of PWB is to “support community involvement.”  If you would like to learn more about the Professional Women in Building Council through the BIA or how to get involved with our upcoming programs, please reach out to Ashley Casuccio acasuccio@customdistributors.com or Britt Warren at bwarren@hamiltonparker.com.  We would love to see new members at our next meeting in September!
