Distribution Devices Workshop
March 18-29, 2019
IMEA 610 Wood Pole Climbing Workshop ( Class # 031819 )
8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Lebanon
This workshop is designed to provide personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to be designated a wood pole qualified climber. IMEA instructors provide instruction on wood pole characteristics, inspection of wood pole climbing equipment, wood pole safe climbing techniques, basic rope knots and splicing, and pole top rescue. Upon successful completion, participants will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill needed for the employer to designate the participant as a qualified wood pole climber. Participants will engage in classroom instruction and field exercises including wood pole inspection, climbing equipment inspection, wood pole climbing, rope knot tying and rigging, hand line use, hanging cross arms, basic tool use, and performing pole-top rescue. Successful skills demonstration and written examination is required for course completion.

200 Amp Underground Workshop
Anderson, IN
The 200 - Amp Underground Workshop provides instruction on the installation and maintenance of a typical underground residential systems. Participants will engage in classroom and hands-on exercises including safe work practices, cable anatomy, cable selection, cable pulling, terminating, and splicing. Upon successful completion, participants will gain knowledge and skills needed to aid in the safe construction and operation of underground electrical systems.

IMEA 612 Intermediate Construction and Maintenance Workshop ( Class # 032717 / #092517 )

Lebanon, IN
To provide workshop participants instruction on 600 - amp underground distribution and overhead distribution construction and maintenance practices including switches, regulators, capacitors, and reclosers as well as bucket truck operation. Upon successful completion, participants will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill needed for the installation and maintenance of 600 amp underground and three phase overhead distribution systems. Energized conditions will be simulated during segments of this workshop.

Substation Inspection & Maintenance Workshop

This workshop is designed for substation personnel and linemen with substation responsibilities. Participants will gain knowledge of substation operation, hazards personnel protection, SPCC requirements and resources to aid in developing in-house substation maintenance and inspection programs. Topics will include; SPCC plans, safety and security, substation design and component overview, control device maintenance and troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and inspection.

Transformer Theory and Connections Workshop
