Job Description/Requisition Details:
CBS Television Stations consists of 28 CBS-owned stations in 17 major U.S. markets, as well as the stations’ digital properties. The portfolio of stations includes 15 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates.The station group’s properties also include CBSN Local, a joint initiative with CBS Interactive that features direct-to-consumer streaming news services in the markets where the Company has local news organizations. CBS Television Stations’ premium local content is also distributed to consumers by the group’s websites and mobile applications.
WJZ-TV is seeking a full-time Digital Producer to work on our web team. This individual will be responsible for executing and managing digital strategy to maximize user engagement across multiple platforms. The Web Producer will make independent editorial decisions on writing, producing, and showcasing news content consistent with station philosophy and brand objective. Respond quickly and effectively to breaking news across all platforms. Assign reporters, to generate updates, fresh content, video and pictures for digital platforms.
Requirements:Experience:
• At least 2 years’ experience in digital and social media.
• Newsroom experience preferred. Understanding of newsroom operations required.
• Proven writing, editorial and editing skills required
• Ability to multi-task, communicate and coordinate with on-air television assignment editors and producers.
• We are looking for a proven self-starter who can work independently to achieve goals.
• Ability to write and edit scripts and video is important.
• Candidates with basic video and graphic design experience preferred
Proficiency Skills:
• Understanding AP Style
• Video Editing
• Photo Editing
• Knowledge of Social Media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and You Tube Program
Knowledge:
WordPress, Photoshop, Edius, Microsoft Office, Social News Deck, Tweet Deck, iNews and other tools needed for day to day operations.
Education: College degree preferred
