Massachusetts Title 5 Soil Evaluator Certification Course

Course Schedule:
- Classroom sessions: 9/2, 9/4, 9/9, 9/11-written exam
- Field sessions: 9/16, 9/23, 9/30, 10/7-field exam
- Rain dates: Each field session has a backup date two days later.
- Missed sessions: There are no make-ups, but you may still take the exams if you miss a session.
- While we make every effort to maintain the posted schedule, dates and locations may change if absolutely necessary.
Registration Details:
- Limited Space – Register Early! Registration is first-come, first-served based on the completeness of your application and full payment. All registrations are date stamped and time stamped. This course fills up fast, do not wait to send in your registration.
- How to Submit:
- Email: Send your complete registration packet to title5@neiwpcc.org. Payment must be by credit card, or for municipalities, include proof that payment is in process.
- Mail: Not recommended, as the class fills quickly.
- Confirmation: Once approved, you will receive an email with course logistics and materials. Processing may take a few business days.
- Cost: $1,050 per person
- Municipal Discount: First 20 municipal employees pay $800
- Payable to: NEIWPCC
- Accepted Payment Methods:
- Credit Card
- Municipalities may submit a copy of their town’s Payment Request or a letter on town letterhead confirming that a check is being sent, signed by town clerk or health director.
- Returned Check Fee: $30 for insufficient funds
Application Requirements – Must Include:
✔️ Registration form
✔️ Payment or municipal proof of payment
✔️ Eligibility application & proof
✔️ Signed waiver
✔️ Copy of driver’s license
Incomplete applications will not be registered. If yours is incomplete, you will receive an email, but your spot will not be held until all materials are submitted.
If the class is full:
- The first 10 complete applications after the class is full will be waitlisted.
- All other applications will be returned.
Eligibility Requirements – Submit Proof of One:
- Mass. Registered Sanitarian – Copy of license
- Mass. Registered Engineer (civil, sanitary, or environmental) – Copy of license
- Engineer in Training (EIT) – Certification and proof of concentration
- Mass. Registered Land Surveyor – Copy of license
- Mass. Certified Health Officer – Copy of license
- Board of Health Member or Agent – Letter from town
- MassDEP Employee involved in Title 5 – Letter from MassDEP
- Advanced Degree in Soil or Geological Sciences – Copy of diploma
- Completed required soil science courses – College transcript (list of classes on eligibility form)
