Featured Role: Health Inspector

Health Inspectors play a vital role in keeping Massachusetts communities safe and healthy. They work for local Boards of Health to ensure that homes, businesses, and public spaces meet state and local health codes. Their work helps prevent illness, promote safety, and uphold public trust.

Pathway Student Trainee Testimonials

“I think this is a great program because it has given me the opportunity to work in a part of public health that I haven’t been exposed to during my time in school. Most of the internships available through my degree program are focused on community health–Pathways gave me the environmental health experience I had been looking for.”

"The three of us had a brief moment to discuss our experiences together, and I feel confident in saying we had one sentiment in common. We don't feel like "extra pieces" in our respective departments. Each one of us not only feels supported and valued, but that we're also seen as essential members of our teams."

“My biggest accomplishment in the program so far is discovering that being an inspector is a career that I want to work in. I feel like I belong in local public health, which I wasn’t sure about when I started.”
