Send an Email, Educate a Legislator!
Narcan training & overdose prevention
MHOA is pleased to collaborate with the Massachusetts Public Health Alliance on its Send an Email, Educate a Legislator campaign! This month, they are back with a new prompt for you to use involving Narcan trainings and overdose prevention. There are new prompts each month. Questions? Step 1. Find your legislators by following this link: https://malegislature.gov/
Step 2. Use our email template to support outreach to your State House Representative(s) and Senator(s). Edit to fit your voice and community.
Step 3. If you are able, attach visuals that help bring your work to life (for example, a flyer promoting a Narcan training or a picture of a Narcan kit). Haven't hosted a Narcan training this month? That’s okay, you can highlight other important activities your health dept. has done and adapt the prompt accordingly.
Step 4. BCC Kate Forrest from MPHA (kforrest@mapublichealth.org) in your email so we can track how many people are taking action! Remember, you can write up to four (one per Representative and Senator using both your home AND work locations).
Don't work directly in a health department? Don't worry - we've got something for you too. Please send your legislators a message about why public health matters to you and has made a positive impact in your community.
